Jazz is our most popular style and where we recommend most students start. Jazz is a very diverse form of dance influenced by old and new musicals through to modern pop music. Jazz class enhances flexibility, coordination and fitness, but most of all, it is simply great fun!
Classical ballet is characterised by a standard vocabulary of steps, poses and graceful movements including pointed feet, rising, jumping, stretching and spinning, Our ballet classes contain traditional barre and centre work designed to create a strong and elegant dancer.
Hip Hop is a street style of dance that has become increasingly popular over the last ten years. In class, students are taught breakdancing skills as well as basic acrobatic exercises to help strengthen and improve their technique. Dance Sensations also offers boys-only hip hop classes!
At Dance Sensations, we offer ‘American Style’ cheerleading classes focusing strongly on teamwork, performance quality and fitness. Cheer combines dancing, acrobatics and lifts in an exciting and dynamic style. Come along and learn all about cheer from our AASCF accredited coaches!
Contemporary dance is a particularly innovative way of moving the body, blurring the lines between jazz, ballet and Hip Hop. This style encourages self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation and is always popular with students at Dance Sensations.
Tap dancing was pioneered by greats such as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Modern groups like Syncopated Ladies have evolved the style to be quite funky and it is currently enjoying a resurgence across age groups.
If your child is a fan of Glee or is always performing for family and friends, Musical Theatre is the class you’re looking for. Students explore acting and singing exercises accompanied by relevant dance movements. This class boosts self-confidence and allows a safe space for students to express themselves through the arts.
Acro classes at Dance Sensations teach students tumbling and acrobatic stunts. This class is often taken by students looking to develop skills and tricks to take into their cheer and dance classes but is also open to those who want to have fun, build strength and flexibility, and learn some new skills.
